Web Database Maintenance                         

This course is designed for trainees who you wish to manage and update the contents of your online database for the purpose of your website. The trainees will be told what databases are, but not how to build them. The emphasis is on using a database that has been developed by a third party.

Course Outline                        

The training will be entirely hands on and will cover:

  • Introduction to Microsoft Access  (2000 or 2003)
  • Introduction to Microsoft FrontPage 2000 or 2003
  • Concepts of ODBC connections
  • Concepts of SQL query design
  • Appreciation of other database formats
  • Practical Exercise in Active Server Page web page design and publication

All trainees will have basic level IT skills and will be competent in both the Windows operating system and the standard office application software. The course will be based on Microsoft technology only. It will not cover UNIX, Linux or any other operating system.
